Allow me to reintroduce myself...

My name is Hov! Just kidding, but my name is not really important here. I did figure that if you are going to invest your time in my writings, you might as well know me a little better than you do. I'll try to keep it a little in the Cliff Notes side... I'm a byproduct of a blended family, hailing from the best city in the world, New Orleans. I was always an artsy kid growing up. Even though I liked learning I've never truly taken to the traditional educational model. Being ADD and dyslexic plays a part in that. Besides the arts the only things that have ever really interested me, in the way of something I might build a career in, is science and law. I’ve a pretty significant background in dance, music, theatre, et cetera. I have a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising, with Theatre and Business minors. The only other thing I could have swapped that for and see myself as being truly happy is Environmental Law. Work history wise, I've waited and bartended everywhere; I've done a fair amount modeling (swim, spokesmodeling, promos, mild amount of runway); and ofcourse other random odd jobs (babysitting, courrier). I've only had a touch over a year in legit retail experience. I like to sew, hand embroidery, cross-stitch, upcycle, paint, hug trees, tinker, read, garden, homestead (despite being single; one can remain hopeful), and million other things. My main passion though is clothing; it’s history and future. My original major was Theatre with a costume concentration. I would have stayed with that major, however, my advisor and I more than butted heads so I switched to Fashion Merchandising. In retrospect I do believe it was God winking at me, so I could be put back on my original path. I’ve always wanted to be a fashion designer, but after a lot of Theatre (and coaxing from my family about what is practical and not) I went in to college as a costuming major (not that the ‘rents didn’t think this also was the most practical path). I’d like to get my Master’s in Fashion Design or Luxury Goods Management; maybe both. I’d also like to sneak into the mix becoming a licensed cosmetologist. Ultimately, I’d like to be the East coast, Catholic Rachel Zoe. I love styling complete looks down to the minutia. So that’s me in a nutshell, for the most part. So hopefully we have enough common interest that you’d want to read. Besides I’m quirky to boot. See you next time :)
